Strategy and Digital Remains Key Agenda in PR for Today’s Japanese Brands

Revealed by 150 meetings at an inaugural, 21,000 attendance PR & IR Expo in Tokyo

Tokyo, April 23rd, 2021 – Integrated communications agency Asoviva has revealed that strategy and digital remains key agenda in PR for today’s Japanese brands. This is identified by 150 meetings with communications professionals at an inaugural PR & IR Expo in Tokyo, where our group company LaCrèta has exhibited. The exhibition was held for 3 days, and marked 21,723 attendance under strict coronavirus countermeasures.
Through the meetings, delegates from Japanese brands expressed their interests in planned, strategic communications and measurable and meaningful KPI as opposed to advertising value equivalent. It is also notable that they are keen to digital efforts such as online news and social media, website UI/UX and promotional video.
10 areas that common issues are found are 1) brand awareness, 2) IR, 3) product PR, 4) new service PR and category awareness, 5) internal communications, 6) overall communication strategy, 7) BtoB awareness, 8) attracting visitors (on-ground), 9) KPI setting and 10) team building in PR department.
Keisuke Maeda, CEO of Asoviva commented: “Today, many communications professionals are thriving online yet they are not fully equipped with digital. Although they showed a strong interest in tools and efforts online, at Asoviva, we suggest the best mix of online and offline. This is because, at the end, it is all about what is good for your customers and consumers. PR and communications have a lot of play to role in this time.”
